Welcome old friends. Welcome new friends.
Over four years ago I had the lovely experience of beginning a regular letter to many whom I simply addressed as God-Seekers. In those almost weekly communiques God's names, attributes, and descriptions were explored through the Scriptures, music lyrics, quotes of close friends, commentaries, blogs, books, dictionary definitions, and my own personal experiences and observations.
With one of my hero authors, A.W. Tozer (much quoted in my tomes), I humbly agree, "The child, the philosopher, and the religionist have all one question, 'What is God like?'"
Exploring again that giant question, this new blog, written (please take note) by a novice blogger, will re-post those nearly 60 updated letters. Who knows, maybe there will be more...
This time around additionally my goal is to offer a short list of discussion questions in the case that these blogs might be used for a group time or even as a part of one's personal journaling in the search for knowing God more and better than before.
Though no theologian by training, my search is no less passionate for I am convinced that He longs to reveal Himself to me moment by moment as I switch from hat to hat as daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, neighbor, teacher, writer, and now blogger..."simply" a woman made in His glorious image, born to live a life of fullness, reflecting HIM.
Oh, how I daily long to know Him better so I CAN reflect Him, so totally incomprehensible in His God-ness yet daily revealing His personal, tender extravagant love, even to me - an aging dirt clod.
Join me if you have those same longings! I welcome you.
